Wally Hase,principal flutist with CAMERATA since 2008,studied under such eminent musicians as Jean-Claude Gérard and Aurèle Nicolet. As an orchestral musician, she was a member of the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra and the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, and served as principal flutist with the Staatskapelle Weimar until 2009. She maintains a busy concert schedule featuring recitals, solo concertos and chamber music, and gives masterclasses worldwide. Recordings for various broadcasters, CD recordings featuring solo and chamber music, and her work as an international jury member round off the picture of her musical activities. In 2000, Wally Hase was appointed Professor of Flute at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar; from 2014 to 2018, she also held a visiting professorship at the Academy of Music in Kraków. Since October 2018, Wally Hase has been a university professor of flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Describe CAMERATA in three words from your native language!
cosmopolitan, emotional, energetic
What do you want to leave the audience with at your concerts?
I want the audience to feel free through music, to allow themselves to feel their emotions, and to go home with a sense of bliss in their hearts.
What does ‘good ensemble playing’ mean to you?
For me, good ensemble playing is non-verbal communication, trust – the seventh sense.
