CAMERATA YOUNG IN SCHOOLS
Boundless enrichment of life
To convey the potential of music as a "sheer boundless enrichment of life" and to inspire children and young people for classical music is the focus of all our youth projects. By means of the tonal language of Viennese classical music, which is familiar to them, we quickly succeed in penetrating to challenging and profound content and in conveying the values that are important to us. We achieve this relevant emotional and lasting anchoring of cultural values by meeting with the individual groups/classes four times a year for workshops. During various specially designed games, exercises, actions and tasks, we dance, sing, conduct, paint and compose together. We listen attentively and explore what we feel when we hear music. As researchers, actors, conductors and musicians, the children and young people themselves come to realize what a valuable role music can play in their lives. Visits to orchestra rehearsals and discussions with our conductors and soloists round out the educational program.
OUR GOALS
Promoting emotional and social competence through significant cultural experiences that give children a deeper understanding of classical music.
Establishing culture as a resource for a rich soul life.
Establishing classical music as a resource for highly emotional experiences.
Enriching children's future concert experiences through their understanding of interpretive quality.
Integration of everyday sound experiences into the perceptual spectrum of children.
Playful introduction to new music and modern forms of composition.
"Humanity as an ideal"
Our core principle "Humanity as an ideal" places all people with their individual needs at the center. We see the genuine encounter, in the best humanistic sense, with one's own cultural world as the basis for the development of one's own cultural personality. Music is one of the most important forms of expression of high culture. This in turn has a central role in the soul life of the individual and his confrontation with himself, his environment and society. CAMERATA's music education programs, under the umbrella term CAMERATA YOUNG, follow a clear education strategy based on CAMERATA's core cultural values. The goal of our outreach programs is to introduce music to children and young people as an anchor that supports their personal development and strengthens them in recognizing and subsequently individually defining their cultural home. In this way, we would like to contribute to a sustainable anchoring of children and young people in our society.
Music is for everyone! Music has meaning for all people!
Inclusion
Our music education provides all children with an equally valuable and sustainably beneficial experience with music by omitting easily retrievable knowledge in favor of teaching them the things that are the essence of CAMERATA. Our entire program is designed with inclusive audiences in mind, as the interaction between and enrichment provided by the presence of children and youth with and without disabilities/impairments/developmental delays plays an important part in its success. After all, questions of "integration" or "inclusion" no longer arise when people are the focus.
