Monika Wisthaler, born in 1976 in Innichen, South Tyrol. Member of the Camerata Salzburg since 2011.
Studied at the Tyrolean State Conservatoire and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna: Concert clarinet with Prof. Johann Hindler and instrumental pedagogy (saxophone) with Mag. Christian Maurer and Prof. Mag. Oto Vrhovnik; graduated with a Mag. Art. degree. Masterclasses with Prof. Alois Brandhofer, Jean Marie Londeix and Eugene Rousseau.
Performance with various orchestras and ensembles: Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna State Opera, Vienna Volksoper, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck, Danubia Saxophone Quartet Vienna.
Teaches at the Tyrolean State Music School and is a guest speaker at various events on instrumental pedagogy.

What does ‘good ensemble playing’ mean to you?
For me, good ensemble playing is when everyone listens to and responds to one another with respect, in order to find a shared sound.

Rooted in Salzburg and at home all over the world.
